There is no alternative to equality.

It may not always be visible to you, but discrimination, suppression and racism exist.

If you have been fortunate not to see it, that is wonderful, and I am very happy for your experience!

It's important, however, to acknowledge that this is not the experience of a great many people in our communities.  We need, very much, to listen, to learn and to believe in each other, our individual experiences and identities. The smartest, most compassionate, people in the world are those who can recognize what their personal experience prevents them from knowing. So, be ok with not knowing, and be open to listening, believing, and learning from in the experience of others.

On this page I will be sharing some of my favourite resources that support, encourage and educate in the area of inclusivity and resilience.

SOGI 123:
Learn the basics, get support, find educational and community resources and have your questions answered.  I have met the people behind this resource, they are kind, understanding, and open to helping guide educators, and parents to increased understanding.

MORE FROM THE POETRY FOUNDATION

Poems focused on the theme of Protest, Resistance and Empowerment.
There is, had has been, racial tension in our communities for too long.  Talking, singing, and writing about the experiences of today, and yesterday, is critical to moving forward, to a place of equality.
